Do you want to advise and influence the marketing strategies of the world's leading companies? Join our Health & Wellness team in Rotterdam as Market Insights Analyst!

For 45 years, we have been trusted partners to the world's largest FMCG, technology and healthcare companies. We specialise in modelling and understanding people's decision making in the areas of innovation, brand communications and pricing and revenue management. In our vision, a combination of methodological robustness, marketing domain expertise and understanding the client's business is key to building lasting strategic partnerships with our clients.

SKIMmers working from 11 offices in the US, Europe, Asia and South America collaborate closely with our clients to uncover business and marketing strategies for growth.

As evidenced by our position in GRIT's report of most innovative research agencies globally, we believe in continuously improving our solutions and expertise frameworks. But above all else, we believe in a culture where smart, ambitious and genuine people support each other, follow their dreams, balance priorities in life and bring everyone's unique skills together in a collaborative global community.

What is expected from you?

At the beginning of your career, as a graduate or with a few years' experience, your focus is on learning and developing yourself into an all round insights professional. Your objective is to achieve project management excellence and become a skilled, knowledgeable insights professional. You are passionate about working on real life business challenges in the innovation, communication and pricing & portfolio optimisation spaces and help some of the most influential companies in the world make data driven decisions.

  • From solution brainstorming and writing proposals
  • To setting up research projects (including questionnaire creation, programming and technical setup)

You may have more affinity for certain areas of research, such as analytics, modelling, client management or advising clients. Therefore, your journey into market research and insights may differ from others because we emphasise each individual's unique talents. We expect you to learn, gain experience, maximise exposure to different challenges, build your technical skills, develop independence and project management excellence.

What skills are important to succeed?
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills - asking the right questions to get to the core of the 'why', considering alternatives and thinking creatively to recommend the most impactful solution for our clients.
  • Number savvy - you are passionate about working with numbers, comfortable with big data files in Excel, and eager to learn.
  • Empathy - you can step into the consumer's shoes, actively listen and seek to understand their perspective and challenges.
  • Collaboration - you work well in a team, building strong relationships and creating meaningful connections with colleagues and clients. You support others, share knowledge, encourage each other's success and build our SKIM community.
  • Excellent communication skills - partnering with clients and working as a team requires great communication.

Other important competencies include being determined and focused, quickly understanding critical success factors, an eye for detail, prioritising skills and working with tight deadlines. We do not ask you to be a perfectionist; we expect you to learn and grow through mistakes. Technical skills such as R, SPSS, Excel are preferred. Besides that, we expect you to have a true interest in marketing, market research, consumer behaviour and/or data analytics. SKIMmers have a strong academic background with studies in Marketing Science, Data Science, Consumer Behaviour, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Economics & Marketing, Neuroscience, Business Analytics, or other research or statistical backgrounds.
