Job Description
OVERVIEW 
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Sales Engineer to join our CNC machining team in Leeds. This role bridges the gap between engineering and sales, requiring a deep understanding of precision machining processes and the ability to communicate technical solutions to customers across industries such as aerospace, oil & gas, and defense.
RESPONSIBILITIESThe duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Understand customer requirements and translate them into manufacturable solutions.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness of proposed solutions.
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to strategic growth initiatives.
- Provide accurate quotations and lead negotiations through to contract closure.
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, and machining technologies.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sales or engineering within the machining or CNC manufacturing industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of CNC machining processes, materials, and tolerances.
- Proven track record of successful sales and customer relationship management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification preferred.
- Experience working with clients in aerospace, oil & gas, or defense sectors.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and quality assurance processes.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and business development.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally.
