E-7 Wedgetail Manufacturing Planner
BDUK is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company, employing over 2,000 people in the UK, responsible for delivering key contracts to UK defence customers including E-7 AEW&C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, and others.
About the role:
We seek a Manufacturing Planner within Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) to support both new business development and existing programs, focusing on creating and maintaining electronic work packages for maintenance, repair, or modification inputs using GoldESP IG1, in line with PT145 and BDUK/Boeing policies.
This role involves supporting BDUK's maintenance and modification support for the E7 Wedgetail Mk1 AEW&C Aircraft during its initial production phase in Birmingham.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Develop technical work instructions aligned with approved processes and regulations, including writing, editing, and verifying technical information.
- Interpret various engineering data sources to produce standardized, user-friendly manufacturing plans, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Manage the creation, receipt, and delivery of complex electronic manufacturing plans and work packages.
- Control configuration of plan sets, including baseline lists, work instructions, aircraft-specific plans, and NCR work orders.
- Manage technical queries workflow from shop floor to engineering, maintaining and reporting relevant metrics.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience with scheduled aircraft maintenance, repair, and modification.
- Ability to create detailed work instructions with technical accuracy.
- Proficiency with Engineering Resource Planning tools such as GoldESP IG1.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise across teams and with clients.
- Knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles, Part 145, QA, and SMS processes.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and drawings to support aircraft work.
- Experience in managing workloads and working within management levels and cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of scheduled maintenance for aircraft systems for effective review and acceptance of work scope.
