Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer: Turning
Reporting to: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Shift : Monday - Friday ( 8am- 5pm) Day Shift.

About the RoleTo provide manufacturing engineering duties within the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) function to deliver the production plan whilst resolving any barriers to production fulfilment, with an alignment to the CNC Turning department. To improve overall product quality using technical expertise to both mature and new products throughout the factory.
Day to Day- Safety: To continuously observe and comply with Health and Safety rules and to raise any H&S concerns with management immediately. To ensure manufacturing processes can achieve the required production rate, cost and quality in a safe manner.
- Quality: To raise / answer NCRs / DMRs as appropriate. Complete robust Root cause investigations and corrective actions. To develop, write and sustain assembly Standard Operating Procedures. To record, analyse, and use data to improve the current and future capability of manufacturing processes.
- Cost: Identify and develop opportunities for new or improved manufacturing processes and technologies to meet current or future requirements. To interface with, and provide guidance to, Engineering, Commercial and Operations departments.
- Contribute to the Xtrac NPI process. Lead / contribute to the creation and maintenance of PFMEA and develop improvements plans. Capability acquisition, installation, and process / equipment layout.
- Be hands-on, approachable, collaborative and have a desire to resolve problems.
- To support and develop a process adherence and improvement culture.
- To follow Company quality Procedures, Standards and Work
- To keep up to date with latest engineering technology and production processes.
- To work to a high and consistent standard especially when under pressure.
Essential Experience required:
Education, Qualifications and TrainingCity and Guilds/ NVQ L3 in manufacturing/mechanical engineering
Knowledge- Extensive experience of CNC Turning machining principles.
- Good working knowledge of quality systems.
- Good understanding of assembly processes.
- Very good IT skills including Word and Excel.
- Good numerical skills and an understanding of statistics.
