Manufacturing Engineer
Location: CV30 Area
Hourly Rate: £25 per hour + holiday pay
Hours: Monday to Friday - normal day shift hours
Contract Length: 6-month contract
Contract Type: LTD or Umbrella (inside IR35)
Start Date: ASAP

Manufacturing Engineer responsibilities:
- Estimate machining and process times to meet design requirements with maximum efficiency
- Develop, implement, and improve hands-on manufacturing processes for CNC milling and turning
- Design and specify tooling, fixturing, and equipment-overseeing procurement and implementation
- Provide cutting data to ensure optimal machine performance
- Support shop floor teams with daily issue resolution and realisation of quoted times
- Collaborate with quality and production teams to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ)
- Communicate with the design authority to understand part intent and process requirements
- Create routing and planning data for new or revised parts
Manufacturing Engineer Experience:
Essential:
- A strong machine shop background with knowledge of milling, turning, tooling, and fixturing
- Practical, hands-on approach to process improvement and cost reduction
- Experience working within a formal quality framework
- Strong problem-solving mindset and continuous improvement focus
- Good PC and business system skills
- Background in low-volume, high-precision manufacturing
- Automotive, aerospace, or similar regulated industry experience
- Understanding of gear form manufacturing and/or heat treatment processes
- CAD/CAM experience (5-axis ideally)
