Location: Paignton, Devon - Full-time on-site (non-negotiable) with circa. 4 weeks per year national and/or international travel

The Candidate:
You'll be a qualified engineer with a background in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing disciplines. You're passionate about process improvement, lean manufacturing, and driving excellence in production. You enjoy working cross-functionally and are confident in leading initiatives from concept to full-scale manufacturing.
The Role:
You'll lead the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for new and existing products. This includes defining SOPs, driving DfM/DfT reviews, supporting NPI, and collaborating with R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
Key Duties:
- Develop scalable, repeatable manufacturing processes.
- Define SOPs, work instructions, and test procedures.
- Drive DfM and DfT reviews with product teams.
- Lead CAPA investigations and implement improvements.
- Oversee pilot builds and transition to full-scale production.
- Define tooling, fixtures, and jigs.
- Collaborate across departments and with external partners.
Other Responsibilities:
- Champion Lean and Six Sigma principles.
- Use data to drive decisions and evaluate improvements.
- Ensure compliance with QEHS and ISO standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor junior staff.
- Occasional UK/international travel. (max 4 weeks/year)
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ERP/MRP systems.
- Proven track record in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
Desirable:
- Experience in NPI and cross-functional project leadership.
- Familiarity with quality systems and compliance standards.
