Location: Clevedon, North Somerset (Transport required) BS21
Salary: £60,000 - £65,500 per annum (dependent on experience)
Monthly Earnings: Approx. £5,000 - £5,460 per month before tax
Working Hours (37.5 Hrs):
Monday to Thursday: 14:30 - 00:30
Friday: OFF
Contract Type: Temporary ongoing, monthly paid / salaried.

Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Cell Leader to join a leading manufacturing company based in Clevedon. The company specialises in producing advanced vacuum and exhaust management systems used within the semiconductor industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing leader to take ownership of one or more manufacturing cells, leading teams and driving improvements across Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery (SQCD) performance measures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational targets are achieved through effective leadership of people, processes and systems, while developing a culture of continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing environment.

Key Duties

• Lead and manage assigned manufacturing cells, ensuring performance against Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery (SQCD) targets and implementing improvement plans where required.
  
  
• Take full ownership of cell activities relating to people, processes and manufacturing systems/data management.
  
  
• Manage daily manufacturing operations from component receipt through to final assembly completion, working closely with Team Leaders, Manufacturing Engineers, Coordinators and Operators.
  
  
• Ensure production capacity, resource planning and workforce capability are aligned with production schedules and business requirements.
  
  
• Create and communicate recovery plans where component availability, production issues or process challenges impact delivery commitments.
  
  
• Develop and embed a culture of continuous improvement, using Lean principles and structured problem-solving techniques to improve operational performance.
  
  
• Strengthen the Cell organisation through effective leadership, recruitment support, objective setting, competency development and workforce planning.
  
  
• Coach, mentor and support team members through regular feedback, development planning and performance review processes.
  
  
• Create cross-functional problem-solving teams to identify root causes and deliver sustainable improvements.
  
  
• Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with company procedures, statutory legislation, Risk Control Elements and ISO 45001:2018 requirements.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience leading, motivating and developing teams within a manufacturing environment.
  
  
• Significant experience working within a multi-disciplinary manufacturing or production setting.
  
  
• Strong track record of delivering operational improvements and achieving production targets.
  
  
• Demonstrated leadership capability including coaching, mentoring, recruitment and performance management.
  
  
• Experience managing large, multi-skilled manufacturing teams.
  
  
• Practical experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement activities.
  
  
• Strong problem-solving ability with experience working collaboratively across different functions.
  
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
  
• Good IT literacy, including confidence using Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing systems.
  
  
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  
  
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  
  
• Self-motivated, proactive and resourceful with a focus on achieving results.
