Role PurposeThe Managing Director will have executive accountability for all operational service delivery across Preventx, ensuring the company continues to deliver safe, efficient and scalable services to our partners and users.
This role will also lead Preventx's transformation portfolio driving operational innovation, digital enablement and process improvement to position the business for the next stage of sustainable growth.
As a key member of the Board, reporting to the CEO, the Managing Director will work closely with the Executive Team and Senior Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership- Lead all service delivery operations, including logistics, laboratory partnerships, fulfilment, customer support, clinical administration and contract performance.
- Ensure operational performance meets contractual KPIs, quality standards, and client expectations across all NHS and Local Authority contracts.
- Maintain a strong culture of continuous improvement, service efficiency and user centred design.
- Oversee workforce planning, resource allocation and supplier management to deliver optimal service outcomes.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation, CQC standards, data protection and information governance requirements.
- Lead the design and implementation of Preventx's transformation roadmap, encompassing service re design, technology enablement, automation, and process digitisation.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve throughput, reduce cost, and enhance quality.
- Work in partnership with the Head of Technology Transformation and other functional leads to modernise systems, data architecture and workflows.
- Lead and steer all transformation projects, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities, governance, and measurable business outcomes.
- Foster a culture of innovation, empowerment and cross functional collaboration.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of Preventx as part of the Board and Senior Leadership Team.
- Build strong relationships with commissioners, public health partners and external stakeholders.
- Lead and inspire a high performing Operations and Transformation leadership team.
- Champion Preventx's values, culture, and commitment to inclusion, wellbeing and professional development.
- Develop leadership capability across the operational and transformation functions.
- Act as custodian of Preventx's mission, culture, and ethical standards.
- Ensure that all decisions and strategies prioritise patient safety, confidentiality, inclusivity, and public health impact.
- Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and collaboration across the organisation.
The preferred candidate will have the following experience, abilities, and aptitudes:

Qualification- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Healthcare, Public Health, or related field.
- Evidence of ongoing leadership.
- Experience of regulated environments (e.g., CQC, UKAS, ISO).
- Formal training in change management, Lean or Six Sigma (Desirable).
- Proven senior leadership experience in a complex, service led organisation, ideally in healthcare, diagnostics, logistics or digital service delivery.
- Demonstrable success in operational management and large scale transformation delivery.
- Experience working with NHS or local authority commissioned services, with strong understanding of governance and performance frameworks.
- Strong commercial acumen with ability to balance efficiency.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder and influencing skills at Board and commissioner level.
- Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, delivery focused approach.
- Collaborative leader with high emotional intelligence and integrity.
- Comfortable working at pace and navigating ambiguity.
- Passionate about improving public health outcomes through innovation and technology.
