Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Managing Consultant to lead engagements with defence organisations and support business development. You will collaborate with international colleagues to leverage knowledge from the UK and Nordic countries and build out work in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Lead consulting engagements with defence organisations, overseeing project delivery from conception to implementation.
• Provide strategic advice and insights to clients on defence policy, capability development, and operational efficiency.
• Conduct comprehensive analysis of client requirements and develop tailored solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement strategies, processes, and technologies that optimise defence capabilities.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within client organisations.
• Stay abreast of developments in defence policy, technology, and security threats, advising clients on potential implications.
• Mentor and coach junior consultants, facilitating their professional growth.
• Develop commercially viable consulting market offerings and refine existing offerings with PA teams.
• Work with PA's international Go To Market and specialist teams to develop propositions, existing and new client accounts.
• Lead and deliver large scale, complex projects.
• Plan, manage, and deliver mixed consulting and client teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of defence industry experience, preferably within Ministry of Defence / Armed Forces or management consulting.
• Demonstrated track record of leading consulting engagements and delivering impactful results.
• Deep understanding of defence policy, strategy, and operations.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
• Proven leadership abilities, managing teams and fostering collaboration.
• Fluency in Dutch and English; additional language skills a plus.
• Willingness to travel as needed for client engagements.
• Dutch nationality required due to national security vetting.

Hybrid Working

We expect a minimum of two days per week in the office or on a client site, with flexibility up to five days per week depending on assignments.
