We are searching for an experienced Manager - Risk and Compliance

Make an Impact at RSM UK

Consulting brings together multiple teams across Transactions, Risk & Consulting, ABA, and Outsourcing to provide client-centric solutions for RSM's current and future clients within the middle market. Our Consulting team has a major role to play in driving forward the growth of the firm with over 1,700 people delivering almost £200m revenue.

At the heart of Consulting are the six solutions we offer our clients: business transformation, deal services, finance function support, risk and governance, forensic and investigation services, and restructuring. Our solutions create an enhanced tailored approach to support our clients in achieving their strategic goals and empower our people to make an impact and develop their own unique career path.

With a new advisory service offering for our corporate sector (excluding financial services) in relation to risk, compliance, and regulation, we are looking for a Manager to join our team. The postholder will be an enthusiastic team player, with an interest in legal compliance, to join our team. This is a brand new role reporting to the Partner leading the service offering. You will have direct client contact, be involved in delivering projects, bid for new work, and support the development of thought pieces, etc.

The role will provide variety as well as an opportunity to continue to learn, develop, and progress. If you are pragmatic and practical, with a keen eye for detail, and enjoy building relationships with clients, then this role could be a good fit.

You'll make an impact by:

  1. Taking ownership of delivering projects, including delivering these to a high standard, within time and budget.
  2. Defining compliance requirements, documenting process flows, controls, and identifying gaps within the process.
  3. Providing insightful, pragmatic, and risk-based recommendations to our clients.
  4. Managing and developing relationships across new and existing clients and within the firm, including attending and presenting at client meetings and networking events where appropriate.
  5. Supporting Partners/Directors in key business development activities for new work, including targeting, writing proposals, presentations, and thought leadership.
  6. Staying up to date with developments related to compliance, enterprise risk management, and regulation.

What we are looking for:

Are you someone who thrives on variety, loves learning new things, and enjoys connecting with people? If you can spot inefficiencies in everyday life and are passionate about making improvements, this role is perfect for you! We value diverse experiences and perspectives. Here's what we're looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • A relevant degree (legal, accounting, internal audit) or equivalent compliance or risk management certification.
  • Significant experience in compliance, risk management, or internal audit, either in-house or in practice.
  • Excellent written skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels within the firm and build excellent client relationships.
  • A collaborative approach with strong team-working abilities and pragmatic problem-solving skills.

What we can offer you:

We recognize that our people are our most important assets. That's why we offer a flexible reward and benefits package to support your fulfilling experience, both in and out of work.

  • Hybrid working
  • 27 Days Holiday
  • Lifestyle, Health, and Wellbeing benefits, including financial tools, electric car scheme, and virtual GP access.
  • Access to over 300 on-demand courses developed by our Talent Development team.
