The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-paced and growing SME within the equipment hire sector, with a turnover of circa £10m. Following a recent restructure, the business is seeking an ambitious and hands-on Accountant to support the next phase of growth.
This is a permanent position offering genuine scope to develop within a dynamic and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring accuracy across accounts
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register
- Assist with the preparation of management and statutory accounts
- Support payroll processes using Sage 50 Payroll
- Provide ad hoc financial support across the business
- Offer occasional support with incoming calls during busy periods
About You
- Finalist or fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong reconciliation experience with the ability to work independently
- Proactive, adaptable, and willing to take a hands-on approach
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced SME environment
- Proficient in Sage 50, Syrinx, and Microsoft Excel
