The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-paced and growing SME within the equipment hire sector, with a turnover of circa £10m. Following a recent restructure, the business is seeking an ambitious and hands-on Accountant to support the next phase of growth.

This is a permanent position offering genuine scope to develop within a dynamic and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring accuracy across accounts
• Maintain and update the fixed asset register
• Assist with the preparation of management and statutory accounts
• Support payroll processes using Sage 50 Payroll
• Provide ad hoc financial support across the business
• Offer occasional support with incoming calls during busy periods

About You

• Finalist or fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong reconciliation experience with the ability to work independently
• Proactive, adaptable, and willing to take a hands-on approach
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced SME environment
• Proficient in Sage 50, Syrinx, and Microsoft Excel
