Job summary
We are looking for a Management Account to join our Finance team at Companies House!
The purpose of the role is to support the Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Business Partner in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting of financial transactions, forecasting and budgeting. Providing support to business areas in managing their financial responsibilities through effective stakeholder management.
The team you will be joining are friendly, passionate, and experienced individuals who work collaboratively together to ensure they are providing an excellent service across the whole of Companies House. As part of Strategic Finance we work as a close team giving fantastic opportunities for developing your knowledge and skills across finance and the wider business, giving you great development opportunities to progress within the finance function. Job description
Your responsibilities as a Management Accountant include:
Undertake month-end activities in line with reporting timescales, ensuring the integrity of transactions on financial systems, ensuring good controls and checks are in place to maintain accuracy.
Provide explanations for significant changes in forecast and actuals, provide updates on issues and risks to senior managers.
Prepare and use management reports to provide meaningful and insightful analysis for senior managers and decision makers.
Attend Cost Centre meetings, to ensure Cost Centre Managers and Budget Holders understand the financial data.
Engage with Finance Business Partners and other stakeholders (which may include budget holders) to share information and add the value to financial reporting, including contributing where necessary to Forecasting and Budgeting in accordance with Business Plan and Spending Reviews.
Provide financial support, training and technical accounting advice where appropriate with key stakeholders.
Build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and other finance colleagues.
The postholder will need to be technically competent and demonstrate an awareness of government accounting principles & processes.

Experience in a Management Accounting role in a Finance section, either in private or public sector.
Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationship partners and colleagues.
Intermediate Excel skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Desire to learn and develop new skills.
Experience using PowerBI software or similar reporting software.
Proven skills in problem solving.
Experience of all Microsoft Office products.
