Job Description
Position: MammographerLocation: LeicestershireRate of pay: £27 -£30Day Webster are currently recruiting a Band 7 Mammographer for a Hospital based in Leicestershire. Our client is looking for the ideal candidate to start ASAP, Ongoing. The shift pattern would be Full time hours, although the service would consider other suitable work patterns for the right candidate.Day Webster Group currently have positions throughout the United Kingdon, Channel Islands, and Republic of Ireland for Radiography Professionals of all Bands between 3 - 8c; If this isn't the right role for you and you would be eager to speak to a Specialist Industry expert to discuss your personal requirements and further roles available, contact the team on or Qualified Mammographer, Band 7Job Summary; This is primarily a clinical role to act as part of a team responsible for providing the efficient daily delivery of the breast imaging service, ensuring that a high standard of patient care is delivered whist maintaining a quality service to agreed standards.
- To provide a high quality mammographic service, including the screening, symptomatic breast clinics and surveillance and family history programme to the women of Leicestershire and Rutland
- Adhere to the NHSBSP guidelines including monitoring of the equipment and quality standards
- To prepare all mammographic equipment prior to using to ensure that equipment is working correctly and safely following agreed protocols
- Ensure that women attending for Breast Imaging are interviewed in the appropriate manner displaying an encouraging attitude to breast imaging and that women are supported and guided through the mammographic process.
- Manage the mammographic workflow
- To be responsible for the care and comfort of the patient whilst they are in the Breast Care Centre respecting their privacy, dignity, religious and cultural beliefs.
- Perform technical administrative tasks, including accurate patient information, examination details and post processing requirements on Radiology Information and PACS systems including the NHS BSP system.
- Diploma of the College of Radiographers/BSc in Radiography
- UK NHS Breast Screening Programme Certificate of Competency/Postgraduate award in mammographic practice
- Registered with the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC)
- Utilising Mammography equipment and positioning techniques of the breast
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control Tests of mammography equipment
- Be able to speak, receive and issue instructions in English concerning patients without risk of misunderstanding
- Good health and co-ordination for positioning patients
- Ability to manoeuvre mammography equipment
- Ability to manoeuvre wheelchairs and aid patient transfer
- Able to deal with body fluid spillages
- Proven good timekeeping and sickness record
- Able to work flexible hours and adapt to changes in the working week
- Able and willing to work at other UHL hospitals sites and mobile units in the community.
- Full clean UK Driving licence (manual) and able to use own care if required
