About the jobThis is a key role within Dublin Simon Community's fundraising team, focused on managing and growing income from major donors, trusts and foundations. The role offers the opportunity to build on an established base of relationships and funding and to identify opportunities to deepen engagement and increase long-term support.
Working closely with the Senior Manager, the successful candidate will take ownership of a defined portfolio of donors and funders, ensuring consistent, high-quality engagement and delivery against agreed income targets. The role is also vital in developing compelling funding proposals aligned to organisational strategy and priorities, and in maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support this work.
The position sits within a collaborative team environment with clear structures and support in place to develop and grow in the role. It will suit someone who is proactive, organised and motivated to have an impact on one of the biggest social issues of our time - homelessness.
- Location: Red Cow Lane, Smithfield, Dublin 7. Working from home options available.
- Working Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm. 37.5 hours per week.
- Reporting to: Senior Manager of Major Giving & Philanthropy
- Manage an assigned portfolio of major donors, trusts and foundations to cultivate relationships and develop income.
- Drive the progression of funding opportunities from identification through to secured income, ensuring clear pipeline management and timely follow through.
- Regularly review and refine our Philanthropy & Funding Development Strategy in collaboration with senior management to ensure it is delivering to plan, meeting the needs of the organisation and fully optimised.
- Provide line management and direction to the Major Giving & Philanthropy team, ensuring clear priorities, accountability and performance management.
- Work with Senior Manager to establish a portfolio of projects and programmes requiring funding. Develop suitable products relating to these projects and programmes to secure funding from the Philanthropy & Funding Development Programme.
- Oversee coordination of bespoke donor events as required.
- Manage income plans and expenditure budgets.
- Build and maintain effective internal relationships (particularly with Finance and Property teams) in support of implementation of strategy.

- 2+ years' experience in fundraising, with direct responsibility for managing donor relationships and/or trusts and foundations income.
- Team management and leadership experience.
- Proven experience managing and developing relationships with donors, funders or stakeholders, with evidence of maintaining and growing engagement over time.
- Experience in trusts and foundations fundraising, including researching opportunities, preparing applications and managing reporting requirements.
- Experience managing a pipeline of opportunities, with the ability to prioritise activity, track progress and deliver against deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling funding proposals and reports.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work, while maintaining regular communication and alignment with senior colleagues.
- Experience working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to develop funding opportunities aligned to organisational priorities.
- Competence in using CRM or database systems to manage relationships, track activity and maintain accurate records.
- Experience in homelessness, social care, or a related non profit field.
- Experience contributing to or delivering targeted fundraising campaigns and appeals.
- An interest or experience in legacy and gifts in wills fundraising.
- Experience using Salesforce to manage donor relationships and pipeline.
- Experience developing high-quality funding proposals and impact reports for grant makers and donors.
