Job Description

Maintenance Surveyor

Location: Kingsmead Office, London, E9 - covering London

Salary: £55,613 - £58,540 per year - plus Company car or car allowance

Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday

We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Surveyor to join our Housing and Property team, based at our Kingsmead office in London. The role is primarily lone working, within a team of Surveyors covering Sanctuary properties in the London area.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake void specification surveys and manage contractors to complete works as specified, handing back to the lettings team. Project management of planned works.
  • Undertake damp/mould surveys with the ability to effectively scope remedial works and manage contractors to complete works as specified.
  • Undertake legal disrepair surveys to address all defects we as landlords would be liable for while also disputing claims we would not be liable for. Produce comprehensive reports with inclusion of a scotts schedule.
  • Undertake general dilapidation surveys and produce remedial specifications for contractors to work from and complete.
  • Attend and contribute to on site meetings.
  • Co ordinate and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear and precise updates on progress.
  • Manage external contractors to ensure maintenance work is carried out in accordance with contract specifications and programmes, ensuring good value for money and a high quality of workmanship.
  • Carry out stock condition surveys as required.
Skills and Experience
  • Qualified to AssocRIC, MRICS or CIOB, Degree, HND or HNC in Surveying, or currently undertaking the qualification. Original certification must be presented at interview; copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
  • Proven experience working with others to deliver property related works, including indirect reports and third party suppliers.
  • Experience working within a building, surveying and maintenance environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness to ensure best value for money.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice.
  • Ability to extract and interpret computerized information and documentation.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft packages.
  • Must hold a full valid UK driving licence to drive a company vehicle.

  • Role salary is £41,972 with an additional policy allowance of £13,640 per annum (rising to £44,181 with an additional policy allowance of £14,358 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance).
