Job Description
Property Maintenance Job - Nr Market Harborough, Leicestershire - £35,000 GPA

We are seeking a reliable, proactive and practical Maintenance Person to support the day-to-day running of a large private estate in Leicestershire.

This is a varied, hands on role suited to a skilled all rounder who takes pride in maintaining excellent standards across property maintenance and estate operations. This role will involve looking after the main family residence as well as working on the wider estate including looking after holiday let properties.

Main duties will include:

  • Carry out general handyperson repairs across the holiday cottages and estate buildings.
  • Complete routine maintenance including painting, decorating, basic plumbing, carpentry and minor electrical repairs.
  • Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance to minimise property downtime.
  • Assemble furniture and install fixtures and fittings as required.
  • Liaise with specialist contractors when required and assist in coordinating access.
  • Carry out property inspections between guest stays.
  • Monitor and replenish maintenance supplies and consumables.
  • Assist with seasonal property improvements and refurbishment projects.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and job records.
  • Order materials and supplies as required.
  • Keep stock inventories up to date.
  • Liaise professionally with suppliers and contractors.
  • Report larger maintenance issues and provide recommendations for repairs or improvements.
  • Support the wider estate management team with general administrative duties as required.
  • Oversee the preparation, set up and general presentation of the wedding venue before and after events.
  • Undertake ad hoc driving duties, including collecting supplies and transporting equipment or guests.
  • Carry out routine security checks, respond to alarms or incidents, and assist with opening, locking up and securing estate buildings.

The successful candidate will be dependable, practical and confident working across a broad range of maintenance and estate tasks. You will be comfortable working independently, communicating professionally and responding flexibly to the needs of a busy estate.

  • Previous experience in property maintenance, facilities management or a similar handyman role.
  • Good practical skills across multiple trades.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Basic IT skills for reporting and administration.
  • Enhanced DBS check

This is a full time position based in Leicestershire. Flexibility will be required, including occasional weekend and out of hours work to support guest stays, events, security checks and urgent maintenance needs.

This would ideally suit a local live out candidate but there is a possibility of accommodation being provided for the right candidate (reflected in the overall package).

Full time role for live out offering £35,000 gross per annum depending on experience
