Job Description

AASC - East of England

Full time - 37.5 hours per week.

Salary - £27,500 - £33,500 depending on experience & skills, plus Serco benefits.

Full UK driving licence must be held. Vehicle and tools provided.

Serco works with Asylum Accommodation and Support Services to assist individuals through the asylum system, which includes providing temporary accommodation. As a Maintenance Operative you will be responsible for ensuring all requested repairs, whether reactive or proactive and pre planned by the manager, are carried out to the required standard and within SLA deadlines.

You will need previous maintenance experience in a field such as joinery, fitting, plumbing, painting or decorating. You should be highly motivated, able to manage your own workflow and work well within a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver all maintenance tasks to the required standard and within SLA deadlines.

• Manage health & safety of yourself and all users of the property during and after works are undertaken and completed.

• Purchase and manage materials using a company account card from approved Serco suppliers only.

• Inspect and maintain vehicles provided by the company, ensuring they remain in a professional and clean condition.

Flexible Working Pattern
  • Mon to Fri 7.5 hours per day between 08:00 and 18:00 to meet operational needs.
On-Call Requirements & Out Of Hours Working
  • Provide out of hours on call duties on a rota basis to ensure 24/7 emergency cover, once every 8-10 weeks.

What You Need To Do The Job

Willingness and ability to travel within the region and occasionally within the UK. Valid UK driver's licence is essential. All offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office.
