Post: Maintenance Officer
Salary Scale: EVH Grade 7 £ 42,707 - £ 46,895 per annum (1st April 2026)
Contract: Permanent
Hours of Work: 35 per week
Place of Work: 37 Drumlanrig Avenue, Easterhouse, Glasgow, G34 0JF
Annual Leave: 25 days
Public & General Holidays: 15 days
Pension: The Association is a member of The Pensions Trust (Defined Benefit Scheme)

Salary placement will normally be at the bottom of the grade, however consideration will be given to the successful applicants' current position and experience.

About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated and experienced Maintenance Officer to support the delivery of our day-to-day maintenance service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a sound background in property maintenance who is looking to develop their experience within a community-based housing association.
The successful candidate will support reactive repairs, void works, planned and cyclical maintenance, inspections, contractor monitoring and compliance activity. The role also involves working closely with residents, contractors and colleagues to ensure services are delivered to a high standard, within approved budgets and in line with the Association's policies and legal duties.
Reporting in the first instance to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Officer will play an important role in helping the Association deliver an effective, efficient and responsive maintenance service.
Qualifications- Relevant experience in property maintenance, repairs or similar role, ideally within a housing association, local authority or similar environment
- Experience of carrying out property inspections and identifying necessary repairs and maintenance works
- Experience of monitoring contractors, checking quality of work, timescales and value for money
- Knowledge of health and safety and landlord compliance requirements, including areas such as gas, electrical, asbestos, fire safety and water hygiene
- The ability to manage a varied workload, deal with competing priorities and work on their own initiative
- Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to deal effectively with residents, contractors and colleagues
- Good IT and record keeping skills, including the ability to maintain accurate maintenance and performance information
- A flexible approach to work and a strong commitment to honesty, integrity and high standards of service
