This role involves performing electrical and mechanical diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on manufacturing assets and associated production equipment within our production, assembly, and test facilities. You will also support the Manufacturing Services Leader and Engineer to ensure objectives are met.

You will work at the Machine Shop or Foundry, which are at the forefront of manufacturing, producing Equiax and Single Crystal Nozzle Guide Vanes for Rolls-Royce Civil and Defence products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on manufacturing assets such as CNC machines and related equipment.
  • Carry out routine, reactive, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure equipment safety, availability, and readiness for use.
  • Read and interpret machinery drawings, schematics, manuals, and catalogs to facilitate maintenance and diagnostics.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to equipment and procedures, researching and implementing enhancements.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production staff and communicate regularly with team leaders and operators.
  • Support induction and cross-training of team members.
Candidate Requirements
  • Time-served advanced engineering apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (please attach a photocopy of your apprenticeship completion certificate with your CV).
  • Experience in preventative and routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and inspection of production equipment, including machine tools, vacuum furnaces, and chemical process lines (preferred).
  • Willingness to participate in projects and continuous improvement activities.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles.
  • Basic IT literacy.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication skills.
