Maintenance Engineer - damage assessment & tooling
Love the thrill of figuring out whether a surprise dent or special repair is acceptable or an AOG or delay waiting to happen? Keen to chat with OEMs, dream up smart tooling, and keep our fleet airworthy day in, day out? Then this might just be your next adventure.
Who we are
SAMCO aircraft maintenance is an independent MRO based in Maastricht airport. our family counts roughly:
- 220 colleagues in base maintenance (MST)
- 50 line-maintenance specialists spread across Europe
- 300 teammates in BTS
Together we keep regional jets and turboprops flying safely and efficiently.
What you'll do
- Assess structural damages and other non-typical damages on the hangar floor and in service
- Open a direct line to OEMs, argue the finer points of SRMs, and nail down the right repair or acceptance criteria
- Design or source special tooling when the job calls for something that doesn't exist yet
- Support our CAMO with data, drawings and expert advice, making sure every release stays on the right side of EASA regulations
- Share your findings with mechanics and planners so the fix happens first-time-right
- Keep an eye on emerging regulations and repair techniques
What you bring
- HBO degree or similar experience in aeronautical engineering, aviation technology or heavy aircraft maintenance
- Solid grasp of EASA part-145, part-21 and part-CAMO, or a hunger to master them fast
- Confidence reading structural repair manuals, service bulletins and OEM correspondence
- A knack for clear English (spoken and written); Dutch is nice to have, not a deal-breaker
- Curiosity, creativity and the calm to decide when "it'll fly" and when "it needs surgery"
What we offer
- a permanent 40-hour contract in a no-nonsense, down-to-earth team
- 25 vacation + 13 atv days, profit share and an excellent pension scheme
- Coaching and time to tinker so your skills keep climbing
