Randstad are proud to be working in partnership with Ford Halewood Transmissions to recruit a Maintenance Crafts Worker to support the site's Effluent Process Plant.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a world-renowned automotive manufacturer and play a key role in keeping essential plant operations running safely, efficiently and reliably.

You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment associated with the Effluent Process Plant, while also supporting comfort cooling systems and assisting across other indirect plant areas when required.

This role would suit a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys fault finding, problem solving, continuous improvement and working across a variety of electrical, mechanical and process plant equipment.

What you'll be doing

As a Maintenance Crafts Worker, you will help keep critical plant equipment operating at its best. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and carrying out preventative maintenance on plant machinery and associated equipment.
  • Working across electrical, PLC, refrigeration and mechanical systems.
  • Taking and analysing effluent samples.
  • Reviewing maintenance data to plan repairs, replacements and equipment overhauls.
  • Overhauling machine parts where possible to reduce downtime and avoid unnecessary replacement costs.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities to enhance plant performance and support OEE improvements.
  • Investigating breakdowns and implementing effective root cause fixes.
  • Supporting maintenance improvement schedules and 5 Why analysis.
  • Getting involved in Kaizen activities focused on safety, environment, cost reduction and continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining plant comfort cooling systems.
  • Supporting other indirect plant areas when required.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with strong hands-on maintenance experience and a proactive approach to keeping plant equipment running smoothly.

You will ideally have:

  • A completed Electrical or Mechanical Level 4 Apprenticeship.
  • Experience working in a process plant environment.
  • Experience with pumps, motors and associated control systems.
  • Electrical, mechanical, PLC and/or refrigeration maintenance experience.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • A continuous improvement mindset.
  • The flexibility to support different areas of the plant when needed.

Additional training provided

To support you in the role, training will be provided in key areas including:

  • F-Gas regulations
  • MEWP training
  • Confined Spaces training
