Machine Learning Algo Engineer

We are looking for a seasoned engineer who combinesstrong backend engineering expertisewithproven experience in machine learning. You will play a critical role at the intersection ofbackend systems,data engineering, andML infrastructure, building scalable platforms and algorithms that power our large-scale ML workflows. Your work will directly impact theperformance, reliability, and scalabilityof our ML systems, from core infrastructure and model deployment to performance monitoring and KPI optimization.

What will you do?

• Architect and implementefficient, scalable backend systemsfor high-performance ML workflows, data processing pipelines, and core infrastructure services.
• Develop, adapt, and optimizeML algorithms, contributing to the platform's core ML capabilities and features.
• Ensure all systems aretested, observable, and optimized, including automatedunit, integration, and load testingfor ML workloads.
• Optimizeinfrastructure and algorithmsfor latency, throughput, and accuracy, tackling production-level challenges in distributed and GPU-enabled environments.
• Collaborate closely with data scientiststo implement core infrastructure features and integrate them into the ML platform.
• Stay up-to-date with emergingML frameworks,distributed systems technologies, andperformance optimization techniquesto maintain a cutting-edge platform.

What will you bring to the team?

• 4+ years of professional experience in backend and ML-related engineering roles.
• Strong foundation insystem design,API development, andperformance tuning.
• Experience with ML frameworks such asTensorFlow,PyTorch, and related tooling.
• Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is an advantage.
• Passion forclean, maintainable, production-grade codewith measurable ML impact.
• Excellentcommunication skillsand a collaborative mindset across engineering, data science, and product teams.

Bonus Points:

• Advanced backend skills with languages includingPython, Java, Scala, Go, or Rust.
• Experience withcloud infrastructure(AWS, GCP),AWS Batch,S3, and GPU optimization.
• Familiarity withSpark,Airflow,BigQuery, and large-scale data pipelines.
• Performance engineering expertise: profiling, benchmarking, and tuning ML workloads.
• Prior experience building or maintainingML flowsand production pipelines.

The Team

• The AI department currently consists of 50 people who are a mix of data scientists, machine learning and backend engineers
• The department provides technologies that power outcomes of campaigns with a total yearly turn over of $1.7B
• Runs large scale prediction and control systems for ad delivery, dealing with millions of live ads, doing more than a billion predictions per second based on large on-line trained models being updated every 5 minutes
