Are you a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant who enjoys helping children build confidence and make progress in their learning? A welcoming primary school in Sheffield S5 is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide valuable classroom support.

About the Role

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher to support pupils throughout the school day. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, assist with learning activities and help pupils develop their independence. Your experience and understanding of children's needs will allow you to make a meaningful contribution to their day-to-day learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities and learning.
• Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
• Help pupils access the curriculum and develop greater independence.
• Support children with additional learning, social or emotional needs where appropriate.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.
• Observe and record pupil progress, sharing relevant feedback with the class teacher.
• Assist with classroom organisation and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience supporting children within a primary school setting.
• A good understanding of children's learning and development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, adaptable and supportive approach.
• Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff and pupils.
• A genuine commitment to helping children achieve their potential.

To work with GSL Education as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you should

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.
• Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
