Full Description

We are currently seeking additional Trustees to be part of our Board of Trustees to help oversee the implementation of RSPCA Bolton CIO, Registered Charity No , and to add value and expert advice to the management team.

The role of trustee requires people who have transferable skills and/or experience that can make a valuable contribution to governing the charity. An interest in, and passion for, animal welfare is beneficial. To help us achieve our goals you must be business minded with demonstrable experience in an area that will benefit the charity and have worked at a managerial level or with previous governance experience.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A willingness to devote the necessary time, effort and a commitment to attending Trustee meetings in Bolton, usually 6 per year, on Thursdays, 5.30-7.30pm, and other ad hoc meetings when necessary.
  • Strategic vision, able to understand and assess risks.
  • Good independent judgement.
  • Ability to understand and accept the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to maintain good working relationships.
  • A commitment and passion for animals, in particular dogs and cats.

We are currently particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in HR, Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Project Management, Building Regs & Building Management, Law, Veterinary Medicine, Fundraising for Charities, Marketing, Social Media, Retail (shops or online), and IT.

These are the requirements to complement the experience of our current trustees but we would also like to hear from applicants who share our values and can bring additional skills to support the charity.

These are voluntary roles and therefore unpaid.
