Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a fixed term vacancy for 12 months.

These two posts are to provide maternity leave cover for the catchment area of Springpark Resource Centre in North East Glasgow. There is a well-developed multi-disciplinary team and good administrative support. The resource centre has 3.6 wte consultant psychiatrists as well as an experienced specialty doctor. GP, Foundation, Core and Higher Trainees are attached on rotation. The post would involve responsibility for the community and in-patient management of patients from the Springpark catchment area. There is close contact with the other Psychiatric Consultants in the North East Division. The post-holder(s) will have Approved Medical Practitioner status in accordance with the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003. Candidates must have full GMC Registration and a license to practice. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of Higher Specialist Training leading to a CCT or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry at the date of interview. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
