Locum Middle Grade Ophthalmologist Sherwood Forest Hospital - 2 Days/Week (Friday + 1 TBC)

We are seeking a locum middle grade ophthalmologist to join the dynamic and forward-thinking Ophthalmology Department at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, covering Fridays and one additional day per week (to be confirmed) on an ongoing basis. This flexible post offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality ophthalmic care within a supportive and progressive unit.

• EM clinics

Run general ophthalmology clinics (e.g. cataract assessment, medical retina, follow-ups)

Support minor ops/injections (depending on skillset)

Contribute to triage, urgent care slots or service pressures

Engage with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to patient flow

Participate in teaching/training if desired (optional)

GMC registration with licence to practise

Minimum ST3 level or equivalent experience in Ophthalmology

Competence in general ophthalmology clinics

Excellent communication and teamworking skills

Right to work in the UK

Valid DBS and up-to-date compliance (if working via agency)

Ongoing role - reliable and predictable schedule
