Locum Consultant in Radiology (Breast Imaging)

The advertised post is for a full-time fixed term Consultant Radiologist with a sub-speciality interest in Breast Imaging at Newham University Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust for 12 months to cover colleague's 1 year sabbatical leave.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our existing radiology team. The post will be based at Newham University Hospital. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent general radiology skills, including emergency imaging and have extensive experience in cross sectional imaging, ultrasound and plain film reporting. The successful applicant will join our dedicated team of 16 consultants and 7 specialty radiologists who currently support general imaging services at Newham University Hospital (NUH).
Main duties of the jobContinuing responsibility for the care of patients in their charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.
Leadership, development, and organisation of the services in their charge in line with the Trust's business plans. Liaison and communication with Imaging leadership team.
Active participation in quality improvement and audit programmes. Audit and teaching activities are encouraged and supported by the department, and indeed by NUH and the whole of Barts Health.
Provision of teaching and training for staffwithin the department and the wider imaging network.

Job responsibilitiesTo support, develop and enhance the general and specialised imaging services at Barts Health NHS Trust.
To contribute to the high-quality consultant-led diagnostic radiology service at Newham University Hospital
Participate in the consultant on-call service at NUH.
To support other imaging developments within the Trust and within Northeast London (NEL) Imaging Board.
To provide evidence-based care for all patients.
To always adhere to appropriate clinical and quality standards.
To liaise effectively and on a timely basis with hospital colleagues, General Practitioners, community services, and relevant healthcare agencies.
To maintain and promote team and multi-disciplinary work.
Person Specification Qualifications- Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Radiology.
- The Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) or equivalent
- MRCP/MRCS
- Experience of management of clinical governance within an NHS setting.
- Completion of higher specialist training in Breast Imaging
- Extensive experience in diagnostic radiology
- Previous experience in Managing MDT activities
- Ability to develop effective working relationships on an individual and multi-professional basis with all levels of staff both within and across divisions
- Teaching for undergraduates and postgraduates
- Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and appreciation of ethical dilemmas
- Up to date knowledge and experience in Breast and Gynecological (pelvic) Imaging
- Good interventional and ultrasound skills
