Position: Consultant in Haematology
Location: West Midlands, UK
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (with a view to extend)
Duration: 17th June 2024 - 20th December 2024
Hours: 09:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday
On-Call: 1:5
Start Date: 17th June 2024
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant in Haematology to join our team in the West Midlands. This fixed-term contract runs from 17th June 2024 to 20th December 2024, with a possibility of extension. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00, with an on-call commitment of 1:5.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform one laboratory session per week.
- Participate in one ward and cancer MDT session.
- Conduct one ward session per week.
- Allocate two sessions for prescribing, administration, and daytime on-call duties.
- Every fourth week, clinics will be canceled to focus on ward and inpatient duties.
Requirements:
- Medical degree and full GMC registration.
- CCT in Haematology or equivalent.
- Significant consultant-level experience in Haematology.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
