Job overviewDo you love working as a consultant in Emergency Medicine? Ever fancied living on the beautiful south coast? If yes, UHD may be the place for you.
We seek to appoint a Locum Consultant in Emergency Medicine at UHD, with hospitals near the beaches of Bournemouth and Poole.
Following recent mergers, Poole, Bournemouth, and Christchurch Hospitals have integrated into UHD. Currently, EDs are at Poole and Bournemouth, with RBH designated for PCI and stroke thrombolysis, and Poole as a Major Trauma Unit and in-patient paediatrics.
These roles will evolve at the end of 2024 when trauma services move to Bournemouth, and the ED will relocate to a new state-of-the-art department in the Beach Building, alongside Paediatrics, Critical Care, and Maternity.

Person specification Qualifications- Full GMC registration
- MBBS or equivalent, FCEM or equivalent, ATLS, APLS, ALS
- Higher Medical Degree
- Dual Accreditation
- Instructor status in ATLS, APLS, or ALS
- MIMMS or equivalent
- Senior clinical decision-making training in Emergency Medicine
- Experience managing adults and children with severe illnesses or injuries
- Experience in Paediatric Emergency Medicine
- Level 1 Ultrasound Trainer
- Management of inpatients with head injuries
