Job Description

Locum Consultant in the department of MSK Radiology This a 10PA locum appointment for X2 Consultant Radiologist, with special interests in MSK Radiology. This posts will be available from 1.9.26 for a period of 6 months. This posts will deliver 10 PAs supporting the Leeds MSK Radiology team (Dr Bill Pass, Dr Philip Robinson), and supporting the Leeds Consultant MSK Radiologists and team. The post-holders will provide musculoskeletal radiology and MSK interventional radiology services. There will be opportunities to contribute to research and teaching. The post will be based at Chapel Allerton Hospital/Leeds General Infirmary.

Main duties of the job

These are X2 10 PA locum appointments for Consultant Radiologists, with special interests in Musculoskeletal Radiology. The successful applicants should hold accreditation in FRCR in the Royal College of Radiologists or equivalent, and should be on the Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK, or have references which have been authorised by the Deputy Medical Director and Clinical Director. Applicants should have established skills in MSK Imaging, Interventional, CT/MR and Trauma Imaging. Excellent communication and team working skills, a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential. Consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share.

Provide musculoskeletal radiology and MSK interventional radiology services. Deliver 10 PAs supporting the Leeds MSK Radiology team. Support Leeds Consultant MSK Radiologists and team. Provide care of patients through specialist diagnostic services and interventional procedures. Contribute to specialist multi-disciplinary team meetings and supervision of trainee medical staff. Conduct research, teaching, audit, and lead multi-disciplinary meetings. Assist non-medical staff in their roles.

What you will bring to the role

There will be opportunities to contribute to research, teaching and new developments within the department. The post holders will be encouraged to facilitate and contribute to the current clinical research programmes ongoing in the department. In addition, contribute to formal specialist trainee teaching within the Yorkshire Radiology Academy and contribute to the clinical supervision and training of specialist trainees and clinical fellows in MSK and interventional radiology. There will be a requirement to attend and lead multi-disciplinary meetings, contribute to audit and assist non-medical staff in their roles in the department.
