Job Description

The Locum Construction Solicitor will be:

  • Drafting, negotiating and advising on supply chain and subcontract contracts (especially NEC forms)
  • Advising on risk allocation, change control and compensation events
  • Providing legal support to procurement and commercial teams
  • Ensuring consistency and governance of contractual terms across suppliers
  • Reviewing supplier sub contracts, design/works interfaces, and collateral warranties
  • Managing contractual dispute avoidance and escalation as needed
  • Liaising with project leadership, commercial, procurement and technical leads
  • Monitoring contract compliance and advising on mitigation strategies
The Successful Applicant

The Locum Construction Solicitor should be:

  • A solicitor (or equivalent) with at least 2+ PQE in construction / infrastructure
  • Experienced in negotiating NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)
  • Comfortable working under pressure and delivering fast turnaround advice
  • Skilled in managing complex supply chain agreements
  • Commercially minded, with excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder skills
  • Able to work collaboratively and adapt within a project environment
