Locum Commercial Contracts and Procurement Lawyer - Full Time - Up to £65 per hour umbrella - Initial 3+ months - Midlands

Venn Group's specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts and Procurement Lawyer to join a reputable Local Authority in the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Commercial Lawyer to join a busy and exciting legal team.

The Role

• Position: Locum Commercial Contracts and Procurement Lawyer
• Duration: Initial 3+ months with likely extensions
• Rate: Up to £65 per hour umbrella
• Working Pattern: Full Time, Hybrid working (occasional office presence is desirable)

Key Responsibilities

• Advising on procurement strategies and managing legal and commercial risk
• Drafting and advising on a range of agreements, including Joint Venture arrangements
• Supporting the commercial aspects of regeneration projects
• Providing legal support across major programmes and projects, including construction related matters
• Reviewing and advising on officer reports in line with the Council's governance and decision making procedures
• Supporting legal and operational priorities across the organisation

Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with strong experience in commercial contracts and procurement law
• Previous local government or public sector experience highly desirable
• Proven experience supporting regeneration, construction, or major infrastructure projects
• Excellent drafting, advisory, and stakeholder management skills
