Job Description
Role Overview
A highly regarded UK law firm, known for its expertise in public sector litigation, is seeking a Local Government Lawyer (0-3 years PQE) to join its Birmingham-based team. The role involves assisting on a wide range of local government claims, including employers' liability, public liability, highways, housing disrepair, property damage, social care, and data protection/GDPR. You will support senior solicitors with case management, client reporting, legal drafting, and court preparation.

Candidate Profile / Experience Needed
  • 0-3 years PQE in civil litigation (EL/PL experience essential)

  • Exposure to local authority or public sector legal work

  • Familiarity with housing law, highways, social care, and GDPR matters

  • Competence in drafting legal documents and managing case files

  • Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)

  • Strong time management and organisational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
