  • Monday to Friday: 6:00am - 5:00pm
  • Alternate Saturdays: 7:00am - 12:00pm
  • Evening Shift : 5:00pm - 5:00am

About the RoleWe are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Loading Shovel Operator to support daily operations at our Glenside site. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy plant machinery, particularly a loading shovel, to ensure the smooth and safe movement of materials across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily pre-start checks on the loading shovel and other plant equipment; report and document any defects.
  • Operate the loading shovel to support material processing operations.
  • Feed materials into process machinery such as shredders or screeners.
  • Refuel and carry out general maintenance and cleaning of machinery.
  • Move and maintain material stockpiles.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Comply with all company health & safety procedures and site rules.
  • Carry out other duties as required by management.

Person SpecificationEssential Criteria:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating heavy plant machinery
  • Strong commitment to health and safety compliance
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport (may be required to travel between sites)

Desirable Criteria:

  • Valid Loading Shovel Licence
  • Previous experience working in the waste or recycling industry
  • Familiarity with processing equipment such as screeners or shredders
