The shift pattern is over 5 days Monday-Friday (37 hours per week)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join the south sector liver nurse team.
You will assess, manage and treat patients with liver disease. You will be responsible for running your own nurse clinics independently. This post involves assessing new patient referrals, reviewing patients recently discharged from hospital and managing patients with cirrhosis. You will also oversee patients undergoing treatment for Hepatitis C and B.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse who will be able to manage their own workload. You will require excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and will deliver care in a busy environment. This post also involves teaching students and other staff members.
You will join an established team. We have twice weekly MDTs with input from consultant hepatologists and pharmacy colleagues. You will primarily be based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Victoria Ambulatory Care Hospital but you may be required to work at Gartnavel General hospital as required. Full induction will be provided by the liver nurse team and consultant hepatologists.
It is essential that you are a Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration with a minimum of 5 years post registration experience. We are looking for someone with liver or relevant clinical experience. Clinical examination skills qualification and non medical prescribing is desirable.
Drivers license is desirable.
