About the Role
We have an exciting new opportunity for Lighting Designer / Senior Lighting Designer to join our firm in a temporary capacity to cover maternity leave in our team.

Hoare Lea's Lighting Design team is responsible for delivering world leading lighting design across most sectors. We work with artificial light and daylight and provide strategic and lighting impact services to support biodiversity and protect our night sky. We care deeply about creating spaces that are considerate of our planet and environmental impacts, whilst also spaces that people love to use. As a lighting designer / senior lighting designer, your day-to-day tasks will vary, as we'll expose you to all aspects of our work. You will manage a range of projects and use your skills/tools to produce and communicate lighting design in full, from concept to completion.

You will be, attending meetings and participating in design conversations. Producing conceptual information, drawings and defining lighting and controls specifications. You will be also asked to use creative and technical software to visualise spaces and prove lighting concepts technically. You will attend and assist site related activities such as light measurements, testing, snagging, commissioning, focusing, programming. You may be working on creative lighting design, daylight or lighting impact projects.

Communication is a constant feature of the role - we regularly liaise with project teams, meet clients, or end users, and attend collaborative meetings.

About You
To be successful in this role you'll need:

• A relevant qualification, or demonstratable experience in relevant creative or technical roles.
• Appropriate experience of a similar role in a lighting design team or company.
• Working experience of drawing and modelling tools and approaches such as CAD and BIM (Revit).
• Some experience of 3D modelling packages such as Rhino 3D would also be beneficial.
• A good understanding of creative design tools such as Photoshop, In Design, Illustrator, or similar.
• Excellent communication skills are crucial along with analytical and organisational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
• A friendly, motivated, and confident individual with a flexible and resilient approach.
