License Entitlements Manager

Role Summary

The License Entitlements Manager is responsible for the governance, management, optimization, and compliance of software license entitlements across the organization. The role ensures effective Software Asset Management (SAM) practices, supports cost optimization initiatives, manages software licensing risks, and provides expert guidance on software licensing models, including cloud-based services in Azure and AWS environments.
The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across technical, procurement, financial, and operational domains to ensure software assets are effectively managed throughout their life cycle while maintaining compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Required Experience and Qualifications

The candidate shall:

Education

• Possess a university degree, or equivalent qualification, in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Professional Experience

• Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), specifically in license entitlements management.
• Hold a recognized Software Asset Management (SAM) certification.
• Demonstrate excellent knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud licensing and cost models.
• Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate a strong focus on customer and end-user satisfaction.
• Be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

The License Entitlements Manager shall:

• Manage and maintain software license entitlements across enterprise environments.
• Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements, contractual obligations, and organizational policies.
• Develop and maintain effective Software Asset Management processes and controls.
• Monitor software usage and entitlement positions to identify compliance risks and optimization opportunities.
• Analyze and optimize software licensing costs across on-premises, hybrid, Azure, and AWS environments.
• Support procurement activities by providing licensing expertise and entitlement analysis.
• Advise stakeholders on licensing models, software consumption trends, and cost management strategies.
• Participate in vendor engagements and support contract negotiations related to software licensing.
• Produce management reports, dashboards, and recommendations regarding software asset utilization and licensing compliance.
• Collaborate with technical, procurement, finance, and operational teams to support enterprise software governance objectives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to Software Asset Management and cloud cost optimization.
