Job Description
Legal Secretary - Commercial Property - Devizes, Wiltshire Full-Time Hybrid We are currently seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join a busy and well-established Commercial Property team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and enjoys providing first-class support to senior fee earners. The Role You will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to a Partner/Fee Earner, ensuring they operate at optimum efficiency. The role requires strong initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a varied workload confidently. Key Responsibilities
  • High-volume audio and copy typing of legal documents and correspondence (including track changes)
  • Preparing and formatting commercial property documentation
  • Setting up new client files accurately via the case management system
  • Completing and submitting SDLT forms (following approval)
  • Obtaining Land Registry documents via the Land Registry Portal
  • Producing monthly client invoices and narratives
  • Monitoring remittance advices and allocating payments to the correct matters
  • Diary management and arranging internal and external meetings
  • Managing incoming/outgoing emails and correspondence
  • Filing, storage and retrieval of client files
  • Providing professional telephone and in-person client support
  • General administrative duties including scanning, photocopying and document binding
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality at all times
Occasional reception support may be required. About You
  • Extensive experience as a Legal Secretary (Commercial Property experience preferred)
  • Excellent audio typing and copy typing skills
  • Strong working knowledge of case management systems
  • Experience completing SDLT forms and using the Land Registry Portal
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good numeracy skills, particularly relating to billing
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Highly organised, proactive and able to manage priorities effectively
  • Professional, discreet and client-focused
Qualifications
  • Secretarial/typing qualification (minimum RSA Level 2 in typing/audio typing or equivalent)
  • GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths
