REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
- Reports to the Vice President, General Counsel and Chief of Staff
- This is an on campus position.
- Providing comprehensive administrative support to the General Counsel/Chief of Staff and Assistant General Counsel on sensitive, privileged and complex university legal matters.
- Overseeing and managing the office finances, including budget oversight, reimbursements, expense tracking, vendor and consultant management.
- Coordinating and scheduling meetings with internal university personnel, external stakeholders, and outside counsel.
- Facilitating communication with university employees and counsel regarding case proceedings, discovery requests, legal holds and general inquiries.
- Efficiently organizing and managing case-relevant information and documentation.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for the office, including triaging escalated and sensitive matters as the first point of contact while maintaining professional communication with all internal and external student, parents, donors, employees and parties at large through all modalities (phone, email, etc).
- Utilizing sound and independent judgement, drafting and preparing a variety of legal documents, such as memoranda, pleadings, discovery responses, agency submissions, motions, briefs, and exhibits.
- developing and maintaining robust electronic and paper filing systems for all legal matters.
- Managing and optimizing the office' schedules and calendars.
- Providing administrative support for the General Counsel's work with the Board of Trustees, including creating agendas, developing meeting collateral and compiling committee materials.
- Maintaining the university's policy database and assisting the General Counsel with the Policy Review Committee including policy creation and recommendations.
- Conducting basic legal research and retrieving legal filings and research materials from varying sources with attention to detail and situational judgement.

- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Professional Work Experience: Five or more years providing administrativesupport to an executive or senior leader in a legal office.

- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently and with sound situational judgement
- Strong commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality and discretion
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with ability to quickly adapt to new technology systems. Including the ability to create letters, documents, spreadsheets and presentation materials
- Proficiency in Workday
- Prior experience with legal terminology, procedures, and documentation
- Experience in litigation
- Experience in a higher education administrative environment
- Able to move up to 25 lbs
