This position as Legal Counsel for Hilti's Large Projects business is a full-spectrum legal & compliance role, addressing project and contractual topics across energy, automotive, industrial, civil construction, data centers, and oil & gas/offshore wind sectors. You will act as a subject matter expert for Large Projects, including consolidation of advice on compliance, export controls, direct sourcing, tax, and insurance matters. The role is based in the Netherlands (Berkel, near Rotterdam) and reports functionally to the Head of Legal for Large Projects in Schaan, Liechtenstein. This full-time position is available as soon as possible.

What does the role involve?- Assist and support different entities in all legal and compliance matters, including roll-out of global contracting concepts (sales, service, software and sourcing) and regionalization of contracts according to local law requirements.
- Collaborate with the global Head of Legal for Large Projects to support regions on all Large Projects legal matters, including advisory, review/mark-up of commercial or project contracts, negotiation of customer contracts for Hilti Nederland and other entities, and managing internal regional/global escalation or approval processes in accordance with group policies.
- Assist in sale transactions by advising on deal structure, working with the Bid & Proposals function (NDAs, responses to RFPs/RFQs, trade compliance, supplier questionnaires), and supporting project execution activities with the Project Management Office (correspondences/notices, supplier contract matters, product liability/warranty documentation, claims, dispute settlement), including management of outside counsel where appropriate.
- Assist Large Projects policy formation, roll-out/implementation and training for global Hilti legal & compliance and commercial personnel.
- Collaborate with regional Legal Counsels on on-the-job training and dissemination of contracting skills/know-how to build legal capabilities (primarily in review/negotiation of sales T&Cs).
Educational background: LL.B (LL.M advantageous). Multiyear experience in top-tier law firm and in-house legal counsel role in a multinational company; EU, USA, or UK jurisdiction exposure. Strong legal/compliance skills with a track record in complex matters (contracts, projects, negotiations). Experience in project contracting in energy, civil/infrastructure construction, oil & gas/offshore wind (as project owner/end user, EPC, or supplier). Languages: English fluent; additional European/global language advantageous. Willingness to travel internationally (mainly within the EU) up to 5 weeks per year, sometimes on short notice.
What you need- Educational background: LL.B from a reputable university. LL.M is advantageous.
- Multiple years' experience in a top-tier law firm and as in-house counsel in a multinational company; EU/USA/UK or comparable legal systems.
- Very strong legal & compliance skills with a proven track record in handling complex legal matters (contracts, projects, negotiations).
- Experience in project contracting (review and negotiation of legal/commercial contracts) in energy, civil/infrastructure construction, oil & gas/offshore wind (as project owner/end user, EPC, or supplier).
- Languages: Fluent in English; additional European/global language advantageous.
- Willingness to travel internationally (mainly within the EU) up to 5 weeks per year, and occasionally on short notice.
