Join Oikocredit as a part time Legal Counsel (32 hours a week) based in Amersfoort, Utrecht, Netherlands.
About the JobThe Legal Counsel is responsible for performing and providing legal analysis and advice concerning legal and regulatory compliance within the organisation's functional areas. The role supports governance bodies, Corporate functions, Investor Engagement teams and the overall Legal and Regulatory Risk management.
Main Responsibilities- Providing legal expert advice and translating external opinions into business tailored recommendations.
- Participating in legal projects such as corporate governance and regulatory compliance, including reporting duties.
- Supporting Intellectual Property and Insurance portfolio management.
- Reporting on developments regarding legal and regulatory risk.
- Interacting with external counsel on relevant areas.
- Acting as a (back up) secretary for Supervisory Board, Managing Board or Risk Committees, handling agenda, document review, minuting and follow up of actions and decisions.
- Ensuring up to date corporate registrations and archival.
- Identifying and monitoring applicable new laws and regulations, translating them into internal guidelines and procedures, and raising awareness of legal risks while monitoring their implementation.
- Master's degree in Law, preferably Business or Civil Law from an EU university.
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience as a lawyer or in house counsel.
- Fluency in legal English (verbal and written); fluency in another language is an asset.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
- Ability to work independently and with a strong sense of responsibility.
