About Voodoo

Founded in 2013, Voodoo is a tech company that creates mobile games and apps with a mission to entertain the world. Gathering 800 employees, 7 billion downloads, and over 200 million active users, Voodoo is the mobile publisher worldwide in terms of downloads after Google and Meta. Our portfolio includes chart-topping games like Mob Control and Block Jam, alongside popular apps such as BeReal and Wizz.

Team

Our Corporate teams support the company's performance and growth whilst putting people at the core of everything they do. As a French tech leader and global successful company, our Corporate teams are constantly looking for ways to innovate and increase organization efficiency to keep Voodoo ahead of the market. Voodoo's Corporate function is composed of five teams: HR, Talent acquisition, Legal, M&A and Finance, working together to drive Voodoo's success.

You will be part of a whip-smart group of in-house lawyers and the projects and cases you take on challenge you to think big and differently. You will be part of a collaborative team that is ready to partner in initiatives that influence all aspects of the business and willing to go the extra mile.

Role

As Legal Counsel in the Commercial/IP team, your role entails acting as a business partner with/for the operation teams to fulfill their business and legal needs by handling contractual matters, and to bolster the company's asset-protection strategy, notably through IP litigation, registration, PR and lobbying.

This is an exciting opportunity for a junior lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to grow in a tech and entertainment-driven business.

Main Challenges
  • Contract Management: Draft, negotiate and/or review a variety of commercial agreements, including publishing, user acquisition, monetization agreements, service agreements, partnership, UGC and influencer contracts-to support the business across Voodoo's publishing, marketing, and gaming activities.

  • IP Protection: Handle IP protection and infringement matters, such as trademark registrations, copycat takedowns, pre-litigation and litigation in France and abroad, and more generally contribute in a meaningful way to the company's strategy to better protect its games and apps despite the uncertain legal landscape.

  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve how the legal team supports the business

  • Impact: You will be a key member of the legal team working hand in hand with the operational teams in a very integrated manner. You will be the privileged point of contact for any commercial need, and will work closely with cross-functional teams in a highly integrated, and hands-on environment.
