Responsibilities- Assist the Managing Director and faculty in all clerical matters related to Clinical and Experiential Programs.
- Support faculty and students in at least three clinics by preparing legal documents and maintaining client files, including opening, closing, archiving, and managing legal mail.
- Instruct incoming students on the use of case management software, e mail, remote access systems, and other clinic specific applications.
- Act as liaison and interpret/translator among faculty, clients, their families, witnesses, opposing attorneys, and students; arrange interpretation and translations for client meetings, court appearances, and hearings.
- Assist faculty with coursework, articles, and publications.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and the internet.
- Coordinate information regarding clinic classes and cases between students and faculty.
- Manage travel itineraries, handle reimbursements for miscellaneous expenses, and perform general secretarial work-including scheduling meetings and appointments, requesting room reservations, proofreading and editing documents, and maintaining organized files.
- Assist in special events and produce clinic brochures, flyers, and informational sheets.
- Disseminate information to students inquiring about various clinical offerings.
- Process invoices, check requests, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Troubleshoot clinic computers and software.
- Coordinate and administer extensive clinical databases; act as point person for case management technical support, the Law School portal, the Law School's ISP Department, and consultants.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of previous relevant experience.
- Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Westlaw.
- Ability to uphold strict confidentiality, meet deadlines, stay organized, and manage projects with little supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- 2 years of legal experience.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Fluency in Spanish.
