Job Summary

Role Title : Lecturer (Welsh speaking) Sports & UPS Foundation Learning (School Links, Entry and Level 1)

Location: Yale

Contract Type: Full time, Permanent

Salary: £33,596 - £51,932. Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 are subject to evidence of previous progression to Upper Pay Spine

We currently have a vacancy for a Welsh Speaking lecturer to deliver Sports and UPS to our School Links and Foundation Learning learners from our Yale campus. This role may also include some hours teaching A'Level sport, so strong subject knowledge is essential. We are looking for an innovative lecturer who is passionate about working with young people who may have experienced barriers to learning and who is able to inspire them to further their education and learning to build a positive future .

What you will do
  • Perform scheduled teaching, preparation of learning materials, marking of students' work, liaison with awarding bodies and exam invigilation
  • Provide educational guidance, support and counselling for all students and act as a personal tutor when required
  • Liaise with tutors from other business areas with regard to resources, curriculum development, student reports and other related matters
  • Complete and produce the agreed deadlines documentation such as, registers, schemes of work, records of work, course review, course analysis documentation, student reports, absence reports, course files etc
Must haves
  • Welsh language level C1 is essential
  • A minimum of a Level 5 teaching qualification (e Cert Ed/PGCE) or be working towards a Level 5 teaching qualification
  • Educated to a minimum Level 4 qualification
  • Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment
  • Awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching
  • The ability to recognise and make students aware of their strengths and development needs
  • Proven experience and competence in dealing with learners who exhibit challenging behaviours
  • A demonstrated commitment to and awareness of the importance of Safeguarding

Welsh skills are essential for this specific post. We are seeking candidates who can help us grow our bilingual provision and service.
