This role offers the chance to inspire the next generation of plumbers and heating engineers while delivering high-quality teaching in industry-standard facilities. The College has invested significantly in its construction provision, providing students with exceptional resources and realistic learning environments that closely reflect modern industry practice.
As part of a growing department, you will play a key role in developing the Plumbing & Heating curriculum and ensuring learners gain the skills, knowledge, and experience required for successful careers within the sector.
The RoleThe successful candidate will deliver engaging and practical teaching across a range of Plumbing & Heating programmes, supporting students to achieve their qualifications and reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Teaching Plumbing & Heating programmes across Levels 1 to 3.
- Acting as a course tutor for full-time and part-time student groups.
- Managing course administration, student progress monitoring, and attendance records.
- Delivering practical demonstrations and workshop-based learning activities.
- Participating in curriculum development to meet evolving industry requirements and College objectives.
- Supporting students through excellent pastoral care and academic guidance.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement and growth of the Construction curriculum.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
We are seeking an enthusiastic industry professional with a passion for sharing their knowledge and supporting learners to succeed.
The successful candidate will have:
Essential Requirements- Strong industry experience within the Plumbing sector.
- A minimum Level 3 qualification in Plumbing or a related discipline.
- The ability to motivate and inspire students from a range of backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong teaching, coaching, mentoring, or pastoral support abilities.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
- A recognised teaching and/or assessing qualification.
- Experience of teaching or training within Further Education, apprenticeships, or workplace learning environments.
- Knowledge of current industry regulations, standards, and emerging technologies within Plumbing & Heating.
Candidates who do not currently hold a teaching qualification should be willing to work towards an appropriate teaching and assessing qualification as part of their professional development.
