Applications are invited for a full time (1FTE) specific purpose contract appointment as Lecturer in Bacteriology, Contract Type A at University of Galway. The Discipline of Bacteriology contributes to a range of educational programmes at undergraduate level in medicine, pharmacy, nursing, midwifery, health sciences and natural sciences, as well as providing postgraduate research training at M. Sc. and PhD levels.

Research within the Discipline of Bacteriology is coordinated through the Antimicrobial Resistance and Microbial Ecology (ARME) Group and is focused on antimicrobial-resistance, food and water borne infection, emerging contaminants, the wider societal impact of infection, and One Health. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to these educational programmes, whilst also conducting research that is complementary to that of the existing academic staff within the Discipline of Bacteriology and the School of Medicine.
