Salary: GBP150 : GBP260 per day (dependent on experience)
Randstad Education is currently recruiting a dedicated Lecturer in Animal Studies on behalf of West Suffolk College in Bury St Edmunds. Running from as soon as possible until 22nd October, this full:time contract (35 hours per week) offers a fantastic opportunity to deliver expert instruction to students passionate about animal care and conservation. As a dynamic Lecturer in Animal Studies, you will deliver teaching across levels 1 to 5, taking on a specific teaching focus within zoological:based modules and aquatics.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver High:Quality Teaching: As a versatile Lecturer in Animal Studies, you will plan and deliver engaging theory and practical sessions to students across Levels 1 to 5.
- Zoological and Aquatics Specialism: Focus on specialized modules including zoological care, enclosure design, aquatic management, and species health and welfare.
- Full Academic Duties: Take responsibility for course delivery, student assignment marking, constructive feedback, and monitoring student progress across various qualifications.
- Practical Facilities Management: Utilize the colleges dedicated animal units and aquatics setups to deliver safe, compliant, and hands:on practical learning.
- Student Support: Foster an inclusive, motivating learning environment that prepares students for higher education or careers within the animal care sector.
- We are searching for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic Lecturer in Animal Studies with a strong background in animal management, zoology, or aquatic sciences.
- Holds a relevant degree or higher qualification in Animal Management, Zoology, Marine Biology, or a related field.
- Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, QTLLS, or QTS) is highly desirable, though experienced industry specialists with strong training backgrounds will be considered.
- Proven track record of working as a Lecturer in Animal Studies or teacher within a Further Education or secondary environment.
- Deep subject expertise in zoological studies and aquatics.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to process one through Randstad).
