Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - KS2 - Colchester

Start Date: ASAP / September Contract: Full-time

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Colchester, supporting a Key Stage 2 pupil on a 1:1 basis.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), who is passionate about making a positive impact on a child's learning and development.

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN
• Experience working within a primary or mainstream school setting
• Understanding of the KS2 curriculum
• A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Appropriate qualifications and training required for this role
• Valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscription to the DBS Update Service

Key Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
• Support emotional, social, and academic development
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
• Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
