Learning Support Assistant / Mid day Meals Supervisor

Location

Nuthurst, Horsham RH13 6LH

Contract

Permanent, Term Time Only

Working Pattern

LSA - 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and 1:15 pm to 3:30 pm (28.75 hrs). MDMS - 12:30 pm to 12:45 pm (3.75 hrs).

Salary

LSA - WS Grade 3 point 3 (£24,796 pro rata). MDMS - WS Grade 2 point 2 (£24,413 pro rata).

Responsibilities
  • Supporting children's learning through scaffolding, guided play, group work and one to one interventions
  • Monitoring children's progress, observing, recording and assisting in assessments
  • Supporting the personal, social, emotional and physical development of children
  • Promoting positive behaviour and a caring, respectful classroom environment
  • Working with pupils with additional needs (SEND) to ensure inclusion
  • Liaising with the class teacher, SENCO and other staff to plan and review interventions
  • Helping maintain an organised, stimulating and safe learning environment
  • Building positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
Qualifications and Experience
  • Preferably has experience working with young children
  • Minimum qualification of Grade C GCSE for Maths and English or equivalent (NVQ Level 3 desirable)
  • Demonstrates warm, caring interpersonal skills and a genuine love of working with young children
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children, parents and staff
  • Can adapt to individual children's needs and use differentiated approaches
  • Proactive, flexible, reliable and a good team player
  • Shares and upholds Christian values and is willing to contribute positively to our school ethos
