Learning Support Assistant / Mid day Meals Supervisor
LocationNuthurst, Horsham RH13 6LH
ContractPermanent, Term Time Only
Working PatternLSA - 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and 1:15 pm to 3:30 pm (28.75 hrs). MDMS - 12:30 pm to 12:45 pm (3.75 hrs).
SalaryLSA - WS Grade 3 point 3 (£24,796 pro rata). MDMS - WS Grade 2 point 2 (£24,413 pro rata).
Responsibilities- Supporting children's learning through scaffolding, guided play, group work and one to one interventions
- Monitoring children's progress, observing, recording and assisting in assessments
- Supporting the personal, social, emotional and physical development of children
- Promoting positive behaviour and a caring, respectful classroom environment
- Working with pupils with additional needs (SEND) to ensure inclusion
- Liaising with the class teacher, SENCO and other staff to plan and review interventions
- Helping maintain an organised, stimulating and safe learning environment
- Building positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
- Preferably has experience working with young children
- Minimum qualification of Grade C GCSE for Maths and English or equivalent (NVQ Level 3 desirable)
- Demonstrates warm, caring interpersonal skills and a genuine love of working with young children
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children, parents and staff
- Can adapt to individual children's needs and use differentiated approaches
- Proactive, flexible, reliable and a good team player
