Learning Support Assistant - Slough

Location: Slough, Berkshire

Start Date: 21st September 2026

Contract: Full-time, long-term

Pay: £100-£115 per day

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Slough is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join its team from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant who enjoys building positive relationships with pupils and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

The Role

Working alongside the class teacher and wider support team, you will provide targeted support to pupils throughout the school day, helping them to access the curriculum and develop their confidence and independence.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning and SEND needs
  • Assisting with literacy, numeracy and classroom activities
  • Delivering targeted interventions where appropriate
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
  • Supporting pupils' social, emotional and communication development
  • Helping children develop independence and confidence
  • Working closely with teachers and the school's inclusion team
The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone who is patient, proactive and supportive, with the ability to build strong relationships with children.

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant would be advantageous. Graduates with relevant experience working with children will also be considered.
  • Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs or other SEND would be particularly beneficial.
